My blog is a collection of random musings, observations and inspirations I’ve had, where I’ve taken the time to formulate an opinion based on gut instinct, experience or, more preferably, a thorough examination of the facts I can find.
I find writing, especially when not rushed, helps me to understand the complexities of the world around me, so I’m not into posting arbitrarily or regularly just because I could or should. I’d rather sit down and tease out the correct words to get my point across. Clear words, clear mind, or however the saying goes.
So, welcome! Come on in, have a look around, ask a question or give a perspective.
What’s in a name?
Kipling’s ‘If’ is my favourite poem. It’s aspirational and character building. There are many lines it which resonate with me, but perhaps none more so than the very end that reads:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the world and everything that’s in it
And – which is more – you’ll be a Man, my son!
The first two lines above have always inspired me to make the best use of my time. Rather than waste it watching TV or mindlessly browsing the Internet, when I’m not catching up with friends or cultivating a growing list of hobbies, I want to explore observations I’ve made or things I’ve heard. Besides, my inquisitive personality can’t stop asking questions or analysing things around me.
It was in this spirit that I started this blog, with a post about making the most of Now.
